Philanthropy and civil society must bridge the gap between the technical and policy solutions that have long existed, and the capabilities, political power building and strategic interventions required to reach social and economic tipping points which overcome the resistance of those with incumbent power (including corporations and governments). We can tackle the inertia in the system by scaling up the people-centred, local solutions which are now fundamental to resolving our collective environmental, social, cultural and economic challenges.
